Cake smash sessions are a blast! There are so many changes and accomplishments during the first year; learning to eat, roll over, sit, crawl, smile, laugh, growing first teeth and even walking. Celebrate your little one! There is no sweeter way than watching a baby devour a cake! Savoring every bite like it's the last. Oh and the noises! Sooo sooo sweet!

SCHEDULING

It's never too early to book your session. Ideally we like to book at least 3-4 months before their birthday. This way we can design and order all props needed. It's best to schedule the session date a month prior to allow for image processing time.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Your session includes everything but the baby! The entire themed set of your choice, outfits and a cake from a local bakery are provided (as well as a solid background). Almost any theme can be provided and we have over 50 outfits to chose from! Bringing a few favorite snacks/toys and a drink can be helpful.

NAP/FEEDINGS

It's always a good idea to plan your session around babies nap time so we can capture their true personality. If they arrive a bit hungry, the chances of a successful session are even greater!

DURING THE SESSION

The session will generally last about 60 -90 minutes, depending on the baby. Most little ones need time to warm up. They are in a new and strange place with a bright flash pointed at them. It is natural for them to be hesitant! We will work slowly at their pace to help them relax. The cake will be introduced towards the end of the session.

You're likely to get messy and even sweaty! Since I will be behind the camera, it can be difficult to keep our tiny model in place, especially if they're walking. More importantly, we want to create a safe and comfortable environment to encourage them to shine! Many babies have a strong sense of stranger danger at this age.
